Being on the east coast means you get some good direct sunrise / moonrise views. I’ve been playing with our new tripod and the manual exposure settings on our little Panasonic mini-SLR to capture these.
The moon-up shots are the most interesting to me – I especially like the black and whites; it was spooky-dark when we were taking these and the fruit bats were doing their eery night songs. The sunrise shots have that awesome Top Gun feel to them, though I like the low-quality shot with the white band of over-exposure going straight down the middle making it feel a bit less tacky.
Overall I like the way that with slow exposure, the sun and moon always look like a big headlight in the sky.

Rocketfuelled is now located out of NSW for a month or two whilst the Lady and I partake in a little Wwoofing.
